Abstract

The mechanical properties and thermal conductivity of polyester with fillers (perlite ash) were studied. The added perlite ash group had values (0%, 5%, 10%, 15% and 20%) by weight of polyester, Various weight filler ratios with particle size around (125 μm) were examined and characterized using tensile strength, thermal conductivity, average burning time, and infrared spectroscopy, and the best fiber percentage was 20%. The properties of the composites (polyester and perlite ash) were analyzed as a function of the amount of filler. All the prepared composites showed improvement in filler dispersion in polyester. All composites showed lower strength to break compared to pure polyester.
